RJon Robins

Upon opening his own solo law firm RJon fell flat on his face. But then he quickly realized that despite having done quite well in law school, completing a prestigious 9 credit internship with the US Trustee’s Office and clerking for a Federal Bankruptcy Judge, he knew next to nothing about how to actually manage the business of a small law firm.

RJon did eventually discover how to manage a small law firm and was recruited by The Florida Bar’s Law Office Management Assistance Service (LOMAS) to teach his fellow lawyers how to find, fix and avoid the sort of marketing, sales, management, staffing, and financial control problems that had plagued his law firm.

As a LOMAS Small Law Practice Management Advisor RJon had the unique opportunity to work with several thousand owners of law firms to diagnose the source and help them fix the problems that plagued their law firms too.

In 2008 RJon founded How To MANAGE a Small Law which has since grown to be one of the leading solo and small law firm management advisory services, dedicated exclusively to the unique needs of the owner of a solo or small law firm. Today How To MANAGE A Small Law Firm boasts coast-to-coast membership with ambitious and entrepreneurial lawyers hailing from all practice areas and walks of life.

RJon graduated from The American University in Washington, DC and received his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, in Ft Lauderdale, Florida in 1996. RJon is licensed to practice in both state and Federal court in the State of Florida.

Kristen David

Born and raised in Southern Oregon, Kristen grew up on a farm where her mother owned and operated Siskiyou Vineyards Winery in Cave Junction. Kristen saw first hand the hard work and dedication required to run business and market products in an era when the public was not familiar with great wines coming out of Oregon.

Straight out of law school Kristen found her passion in defending lawyers and medical professionals in malpractice and licensing issues. The lessons learned in the trenches (from intake to prepping cases to trial techniques to managing staff), coupled with the causes and effects seen in so many malpractice actions, helped her to create systems to build a successful law firm business.

After 15 years of helping lawyers with legal malpractice matters, Kristen now speaks all over the United States helping hundreds of lawyers build successful law firms. She is an active member in the legal community and is frequently invited to speak at both legal seminars and community events.

Kristen graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon and received her Juris Doctorate from Northwestern School of Law in 2000. Kristen is licensed to practice in both state and federal court in the State of Oregon.
